Richard the 3rd

One of the awesome parts of residing in San Diego (an aspect that almost makes up for our Patrick infestation) is the Old Globe theater.

Tonight I watched ‘Richard the 3rd.’

The performances were great and the production was arresting (tonight’s set design was distopian/modern: complete with automatic weaponry, sirens, helicopter noises and creepy eye graffiti).  Which all reminds me of the Onion Article: Unconventional Director sets Shakespeare Play in Time, Place Shakespeare Intended

the san diego old globe produces richard the 3rd

Because nothing says Shakespeare like Concrete slabs and creepy eye graffiti.

But seriously, if you get a chance you should see a play at the Old Globe.  Here’s a highlight reel from the play

and here’s a trailer for this year’s Old Globe Shakespeare festivel.

Patrick

The inevitable victor

Patrick really is more awesome. His name goes second to signal the inevitability of his victory.

When not rubbing John's face in his rarefied awesomeness, Patrick (a.k.a. Patrick Harris) is a graduate student of Rhetoric at SDSU and all-about geek gadfly.
