DragonCon cosplay photos significantly less sexy now

I have never been to DragonCon, and if I were to go, it would be primarily to revel in the rumored debauchery and take many, many photographs of the many, many cosplayers.  If this makes me a bad person, I am willing to accept that.  But according to this Atlanta Magazine profile, it does not make as bad a person as Ed Kramer, who founded DragonCon, still receives a significant percentage of its profits, and has been avoiding trial on charges of child molestation for more than a decade.  (Notice I didn’t say avoiding charges, or avoiding arrest.  He’s avoiding trial.  Read the profile before you start arguing with me.)

I really hope they get around to successfully kicking him out of the corporation so I can go back to drooling at DragonCon Flickr groups without feeling guilty.  Hey, maybe they’ll be motivated to do that if we circulate this article!  Just a thought.

It sucks when terrible people profit from excellent communities.

Patrick

The inevitable victor

Patrick really is more awesome. His name goes second to signal the inevitability of his victory.

When not rubbing John's face in his rarefied awesomeness, Patrick (a.k.a. Patrick Harris) is a graduate student of Rhetoric at SDSU and all-about geek gadfly.
